Dr. Necati Canpolat

Sr. Staff Architect, Intel Corporation

Dr. Necati Canpolat has been with Intel Corporation since 1997. He is part of Intel Communication and Devices Group and he has been focusing on mobile communications R&D, product definition, path finding, industry engagement, standards development, forging partnership and ecosystem formation. Prior to joining Intel, he has worked at Qualcomm Inc., developing CDMA system software in San Diego. Dr. Canpolat is a board director at the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA). He has over 20 years of experience in the communication industry. He has held a number of officer positions in IEEE 802.11, Wi-Fi Alliance, WBA and also GSMA. He has been recently working on Carrier Wi-Fi topics including Wi-Fi Calling, IoT, Coordinated Shared Spectrum, Licensed and Unlicensed Convergence, Multi Band Operations, Hotspot 2.0, Wi-Fi offloading and LBS over Wi-Fi. Dr. Canpolat holds a Ph.D. from Oregon State University and Master’s degree from Colorado State University.
